North Central Youth Soccer
Association
PROGRAM
DESCRIPTION
River Valley
Soccer Club offers the following programs. The “U” means
“under.” The number following refers to the age group. A
player is assigned to an age group based on their age as of August 1
before the fall or season begins.
U6
Program
The U6 program is co-ed and includes 4 and 5 year olds. The fall season
format is one on one, meaning parents with players (one ball per player)
warm up and practice ball-handling skills under the general direction
of the coach/age representative. Each practice ends with short 3 vs.
3 soccer games. The spring season may continue this format, or may more
formally break into teams. A similar – warm up, practice and games
– format is followed.

The U8 program is co-ed and includes 6 and 7 year olds. Coaches conduct
practices and teams meet for games, according to a prepared schedule.
Games are usually held on Tuesday evenings (and Thursdays in the Spring)
and Saturday mornings at the North Omak Elementary School. Each team
has five players on each side. Travel to Oroville and Tonasket occurs
infrequently.
U10
Program
The U10 program is co-ed and includes 8 and 9 year olds. Coaches conduct
practices and teams meet for games, according to a prepared schedule.

schedule. Games are usually held on Wednesday evenings (and Fridays
in the Spring) and Saturday mornings at the East Omak City Park. Travel

High
School Program
In the fall, High school girls are usually playing on the school soccer
team. High school boys have two options:
Option
1: They can play games only on Sundays with other High School students.
These players may practice with the U15 team, as interest and availability
allows. The cost for this program is less than the general recreational
fees.
Option 2: High School players that are under 15 years old may also join
the U15 recreational soccer team. Players are assigned to a team/coach.
They practice with the team and play the U15 game schedule. These high
school players may also play on Sundays as part of an assigned high
school team. The cost for this program is the same as the recreational
fee.
In
the spring, High Schoolboys are usually playing on the school soccer
team. High school girls have the same options as described above.
District
6 Programs
The Club offers a more competitive program at the U-14 age level by
playing teams across the state. Priority for placement on these teams
includes: 1) returning players, 2) older players, and 3) others, as
space is available. This requires a commitment to travel to destinations
in Eastern Washington and Idaho.
